The purpose of the event is to educate our youth on mental health. Myself and my team of clinicians/professionals share what mental health means, what it can look like (diagnoses), and how your mental health can impact how you think, feel, and act. And to better support them, we identify specific topics/issues the participants may face or have faced and give them the proper tools, skills, techniques to be able to function in a healthy mental and emotional capacity. I incorporated Meditation and Move for Mental Health into the event because it is important to learn how to still the mind and move (i.e. dance, exercise, nod your head while listening to music) even when you may be stuck or struggling mentally.

 

The hope is that we can begin to break the stigmas and show our youth that they can embrace and address their mental health needs. We strive to provide them the tools necessary to cope while also encouraging them to seek help as needed.

 The movement will continue in 2024 and beyond!!
